a day that failed to live up to expectations
today was going to be a good one. i had a video to edit and that's about it.
i went over to the room that has the only 2 computers that have final cut anywhere on campus as far as i know (i bet there are more hidden away somewhere) but it turns out my tutors were going to be conducting applicant interviews in that same room all day until the building closed.
slightly disheartened, i went over to the library to use imovie.
once i got beyond the mysterious trouble the computer had recognizing the camera and my hard drive, i rediscovered my distaste for imovie. it is a maddeningly incompetent program. it did all sorts of things it shouldn't have and wouldn't let me do many things it should have.
so i gave up on getting anything done today.
i found that the computer i was attempting to use imovie on had jay-z's black album on its itunes. i transferred it to my ipod and walked over to farmfoods to buy some bread and peanut butter while listening to jay-z's mother talk about him as a child (that's what the first track is).
but farmfoods was in on the mediocrity scheme as well because there were no more loaves of wholemeal bread so i had to settle for "sandwhich white medium".
so this day turned out much like scottish history in general: high expectations, great promise and ultimate failure.
(the picture is part of what's in the video that still has to be edited)
