better mood/mother nature
wow, i was cranky when i last posted, sorry about that, jet lag i guess.
i just found an internet cafe. i woke up and, having not seen blue sky since last tuesday in massachusetts, i decided to walk west toward the small patch i could see in the distance. i had meant to explore the west end anyway. getting there is simple enough map-wise, but what i wasnt counting on was mother nature, who has a particular distaste for glasgow i've discovered. i alternately was waling through rain, sleet and gale-force winds. as i got closer to the small patch of blue, the three combined and stung my face as though thousands of tiny bees. it was so painful at one point i turned around but later i valiantly continued west with the hope of a warm coffee shop driving me on.
so i found the coffee shop which plays early nineties grunge and johnny cash (awesome) and has internet, my beloved internet.
i think i have a plan for posting pictures later when i get i-net access at school on monday.
oh another thing, they love fried foods here, that was no joke. the first sign i saw coming off the airplane was a giant french fry (aka "chip") with the words "welcome home" underneath. this captures both the welcoming nature of the glasweigens as well as their obsession with all things fried, especially "chips" and sheep guts (haggis, they sell it everywhere).
ok my time is almost up, i got a cell phone here, email me if you want the number, hope all is well back in the states or whereever you are.
